Delete your account & data

Last updated: 28 June 2026

Less Mayhem is operated by Sparked Labs Ltd (England and Wales company number 17043339). This page explains how to permanently delete your Less Mayhem account and the data associated with it, what is removed, what we keep, and for how long. You can use either route below.

Before you delete, you can keep a copy of your information: sign in and choose Settings → Account → Download my data to export a JSON copy. Once deletion completes it cannot be undone.

Option A — Delete it yourself in the app (easiest)

If you can sign in, you can request deletion in a few taps:

  • Open Less Mayhem and sign in.
  • Go to Settings → Account.
  • Under Delete account, type DELETE to confirm.
  • Tap Delete my account.

Your account is then scheduled for permanent deletion after a 7-day grace period. You can cancel any time before then by signing back in and choosing Cancel deletionin Settings; once the period ends it cannot be undone. If you are the only parent in your household, this also deletes the entire household and everyone’s data in it (see what is deleted below).

Option B — Request deletion by email (if you can’t sign in)

If you have lost access to the app or your inbox, request deletion in writing:

  • Email privacy@lessmayhem.com from the email address on your Less Mayhem account, with the subject “Delete my account”.
  • We verify that you control the email address registered to the account before we do anything. We only ever act on a request once it is confirmed against the address on file — this is what stops someone else from requesting deletion of your account. If you write from a different address, we may ask you to prove control of the registered one first.
  • After verification we hold the request for a 7-day grace period, during which you can cancel by replying to us. When the period ends we permanently delete your data and email you to confirm it is done.

We do not confirm whether an email address has an account except to the verified account holder.

What data is deleted

Your account. Your sign-in identity and profile are permanently removed: your email address, display name, sign-in credentials, and any device push notification tokens.

Your household. If you are the last parent in your household, deleting your account permanently deletes the whole household and all of its data, for every member:

  • Children’s names and birthdates.
  • Routines and chores, points/allowance, and completion history.
  • Calendar events, lists, meals and recipes.
  • Notes, messages and the family photo gallery.
  • Forwarded school emails and their attachments.
  • Connected-account tokens and synced data (e.g. Google Calendar).

If another parent remainsin your household, only your personal profile is deleted. Content you created is reassigned to a remaining parent so the household keeps working, and the household’s shared data is not deleted.

What we keep, and for how long

  • Your data is removed from our live systems at the end of the 7-day grace period, once the window to cancel has passed.
  • Residual copies in our providers’ encrypted backups are purged as those backups rotate, within 30 days.
  • We retain only the minimum we are legally required to keep (for example limited records needed to meet accounting or legal obligations), for no longer than the law requires, after which it is deleted.
